Carlos Eduardo Rocha Fights With Jake Ellenberger At UFC 126

In a MMA fight at UFC 126, Jake Ellenberger and Carlos Eduardo Rocha will face each other very soon. Even though Rocha took his place, Jon Fitch was originally scheduled to fight.

In MMA Odds Ellenberger is a -325 moneyline favorite.

In their respective careers these two fighters are at very different points. Ellenberger who has already fought 28 professional fights is a seasoned veteran. He has a 2-1 record in the UFC as he is 23-5 in his career.

Although Rocha has looked great in all of his fights so far, he has not had nearly as much experience. Even though he has only fought one fight in the UFC, he is 9-0 in his professional career. While very few fighters are able to remain unbeaten against the tough UFC competition, it is not uncommon for fighters to be undefeated before coming to the UFC.

As Rocha put Kris McCray away with a kneebar, he had an impressive first victory. As he has ended fights in the first round in 8 of his 9 competitions, he has had a knack for dominating his competition. To come out and fight very aggressively look for Rocha. He will certainly try to keep up with his reputation as he has a knack for putting fighters away early.

Lasting past the first round will be the key for Ellenberger. Although it is unclear whether or not Rocha will have the stamina to go multiple rounds, he has dominated his opponents. Ellenberger may be able to find the weaknesses in Rocha’s game, if he can just survive.

Patrick Côté vs. Tom Lawlor – UFC 121 – Middleweight Bout

On Saturday, October 23, UFC 121 will take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. On Spike TV, two undercard middleweight bouts will be featured. Between Patrick Côté and Tom Lawlor will be the first two fights, two fighters in desperate need of a victory.

At UFC 90, Côté had his title dreams spoiled with a knee injury against Anderson Silva. Six months later at UFC 113, he returned to the octagon with a fight against Alan Belcher. In the second round, he lost by a rear naked choke submission. Côté was on a five-fight winning streak, prior to losing his last two bouts.

Côté has a 13-6 record for his career. In UFC bouts, came all six of his losses. At UFC 50 against Tito Ortiz, he made his UFC debut on four days notice. UFC officials were impressed that he wasn’t submitted or knocked out by Ortiz, although he lost in a unanimous decision.

With wild costumes and exciting entrances into the octagon, Lawlor has made a name for himself. In the eighth season finale for The Ultimate Fighter, his UFC career began with a win. Seven months later at UFC 100, came his next bout against C.B. Dollaway. 55 seconds into the first round, he won by technical submission.

Lawlor very well could be fighting for his UFC future, but he is popular among UFC fans for his colorful personality. He has dropped two consecutive UFC bouts, with one coming against Joe Doerksen at UFC 113 and the other against Aaron Simpson at UFC Fight Night 20.

As the favorite in UFC betting lines at around -165, Côté goes into the bout. At +135, Lawlor is listed.
