UFC 118 Preview: Andre Winner vs. Nik Lentz

Andre Winner will take on Nik Lentz at the UFC 118 event scheduled to take place in Boston, MA. These two fighters will take on each other on the preliminary card.

Andre is a fan favorite because of some of his recent appearance in “The Ultimate Fighter 9.” He was a finalist in that program but he hopes to move up in the world. He has fought 14 fights to this point in his career and has lost just three of them. He has spent 3 of those fights in the UFC. To this point he has had a fair amount of success in those fights. He has won 2 fights and lost one in his time in the UFC. He is popular in the UFC betting lines.

Nik Lentz has had a fantastic career to this point. Lentz is known for his Midwest heritage and has been tough to beat over the course of his career. In his 23 career fights he has only lost three times. He has compiled a record of 18-3-2 in his mma career. He has yet to lose a fight in the UFC to this point.

Out of his three career matches he has managed two victories and another tie. He would love to have a big victory here in order to push his career towards main card portion of these UFC events. His last victory was in a non-televised portion of the UFC Fight Night 21 event. He had an impressive decision victory over Rob Emerson.

These two fighters will certainly try to prove their worth at UFC 118.

UFC 118 Main Event Preview – Frankie Edgar vs. B.J. Penn: MMA

At UFC 118, Frankie Edgar will fight B.J. Penn. Between these two fighters that matched up against each other just recently; this fight is anticipated to be a great matchup.

Edgar was able to take home the victory, in their recent match. He became the champion of the UFC Lightweight division and a favorite in UFC bet with this victory. It was an interesting fight. In a championship bout, normally there is great fighting taking place and a lot of excitement.

Between these two fighters, unfortunately the fight wasn’t extremely exciting.

Penn really did not show forth his best effort and compared to his usual self he was a little bit on the slow side. Edgar certainly did not bring any earth shattering moves into the match even though he fought well. It was extremely close in the end the fight. The reason for the rematch in UFC 118 was probably the closeness of the fight.

Penn will be the key and question in this fight. Penn is talented fighter is pretty clear. Penn is even known as “The Prodigy” by Many tpeople. In their last fight, unfortunately Penn just did not show up. You can expect a great match between Edgar and Penn when this match rolls around, if Penn comes with his best effort.

If Edgar hopes to retain his belt, he will have to all of the tools. It can be assured that he has no intention of losing this fight against Penn as to this point, he has only lost once in his career and.

As of today, Rashad Evans is one of the premier fighters in the Mixed Martial arts circuit. He is originally from Lansing, Michigan and was born on September 25, 1979.

Around 2004 he won five MMA fights under the teachings of Dan Severn when his professional MMA career began. This got a gig on the Ultimate Fighter 2 and got him a Spike television reality show and his betting odds got a boosting in all different online sportsbooks.

He fought against Sam Hoger on April 6, 2006. Evans followed the first win it with another victory over Stephen Bonnar on June 28 in 2006. When Evans defeated Chuck Liddell in a convincing victory at UFC 88 in 2008, it was the next big career milestone for him.

For the UFC light heavyweight title belt, Evans, in 2008, fought against Forrest Griffin. He won the title and was even considered fighter of the year. After being knocked out by Lyoto Machida he lost the belt and the glory was soon lost.

Ever since that loss to Machida and trying to get his belt back, Evans has been on the long road back. In UFC 108, he was scheduled to fight Thiago Silva and told that if he could beat him that he would have a chance at taking on Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Evans would go on to beat Silva by a unanimous decision after he achieved his Jiu Jitsu black belt that morning.

At UFC 114, on May 29, 2010, Evans fight against Rampage Jackson will be the next challenge for him. He will continue his legacy, as one of the best MMA fighters in the world, if he can beat Jackson.
