Patroits vs Colts

It’s time for the Battle of the Unbeaten. The Indianapolis Colts (+5.5) host the New England Patriots, (-5.5) at the RCA Dome, for some hard hitting NFL action.

The New England Patriots (7-0) are coming off a drubbing of the Washington Redskins, which they won 52-7. I knew they’d win but this was ridiculous. The Patriots lead the NFL in points per game (41.4), yards per game (439.5), and pass yards (303.8). QB Tom Brady just can’t screw up if he tried. He leads the NFL with 27 TDs with only 2 INT for 2,125 yards. Brady’s favorite receiver Randy Moss leads the NFL with 10 TDs and nothing to slow him down. The only average part of the Pats game is their rushing, which is ranked 8th (135). The Pats defense is very strong at stopping the rush as well as the pass.

The Indianapolis Colts (7-0) got off to a slow start against the Carolina Panthers, but still managed to pull of an impressive 31-7 victory. QB Peyton Manning’s offense is currently ranked 3rd in points (32), 3rd in yards (399), 6th in passing yards (258.7) and 5th in rushing (140). Against the Panthers Manning threw for 255 YDS along with 2 Tds. RB Joseph Addia lead the Colts in rushing with 100 YDS and 2 TDs. The Colts defense are very capable of stopping the pass, which is why they’re ranked 2nd with 165 YDS allowed. They also have the 2nd lowest points allowed average with 14.

Bottom Line: It’s going to be a battle in the air. Both teams are great at stopping the rush, but the Patriots have the upper hand. The Colts haven’t played a tough challenger, while the Pats already proved that they can beat the best as they did against Dallas. The Brady Bunch will be to hot to handle. Go Pats!
